a resolution of sorts?
you could say that.... keep better record of our lives on this blog, whether it include pictures or not. my slight obsession with pictures and sharing them is getting a little out of hand so i figured a resolution to just keep good record of the happenings in the voeller household by word and picture will be a good habit to start! i will not, however, be using proper capitalization in my typing just yet. one step at a time.
~prior to new year's eve, the boys both developed bad colds and had a couple of sleepless nights. both have coughs and runny noses so we stayed in most of the new year's weekend. they were originally going to spend a night with granny and gramps in rugby, but gramps hasn't been feeling the best so i figured 2 sick little buggas was maybe not the best thing to add to the household.
dane's breathing started to sound rough again so we hit the nebulizer pretty hard on saturday the 31st and seem to have gotten it under control, but i just knew i'd feel better taking him in to check with a doctor so tonight we found out he's got an ear infection! he got some antibiotics, and an oral steroid in addition to the inhalant steroid and albuterol medication he's getting through his breathing machine. he's very good about sitting for his 'breev treat', which is surprising as he doesn't sit still for much! we are hoping to get this under control soon! the doctor said she wouldn't classify if as pneumonia or asthma, but that his lungs keep flaring up from other issues and the side effect is his breathing troubles.
~new year's day the boys and i headed to rugby. they were both feeling quite a bit better. andrea and jeremy were staying there over the weekend and were actually in bottineau sledding when we got to mom and dad's house. we played for a while and the boys got out every toy they could reach in the toy closet. we impatiently awaited the return of andrea and jeremy as we were there to surprise andrea for her 30th birthday (which was the following day). it was a success! we hid my car and every sign of us being there. i love a perfect, successfully executed surprise! we even brought aunt dorothy out for supper, then returned her to her rightful home as we headed back to the magic city. dane forced himself to stay awake the entire ride home so he could watch cars 2, but brody was passed out within 2 minutes of hitting the road. such good travelers!
~andrea turns 30 on jan 2!!! my little seester is gettin so growed up! i love her! the boys and i enjoyed a day at home while dustin had to return to the real world. we hit up the mall, met dustin for dinner, and the boys got a good nap while i took down the christmas decorations. sad to see them go, but glad to see all the extra room they seem to create by leaving! and is anyone else so satisfied by that, followed by a good, thorough vacuuming? doesn't get much better than vacuum lines in your carpet, if you ask me!
~now it's back to work and daycare for a few days before another weekend. perhaps this one won't be crammed full of so many things now that the holidays are over and everyone is starting to feel better.
xoxoxoxo
Voeller (:
